Privacy Policy
ministryofmisguidedmessages.com is run by Spread Media Studios, with RWS Films, based in Ontario, Canada (“we”, “us”). We follow Canada’s privacy law (PIPEDA) and anti-spam law (CASL). This page explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- When you submit a story: your name, email address, city or region if you give it, your story and its title and category, whether you want an anonymous credit, and whether you want news from us.
- A record of your agreement: the date and time, the version of the Submission Terms you agreed to, your confirmation that you’re 18 or older, and the IP address and browser type used.
- Server logs: our host keeps standard logs (IP address, pages visited, date and time) for security.
This site uses no cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The submission form saves an unsent draft in your own browser only, so it isn’t lost if the page closes. It never leaves your device unless you submit.
How we use it
- To read and consider your story for the show, and to contact you about it.
- To credit you (or not, if you asked to stay anonymous) and, if your story is selected for a main episode, to arrange your Creator Royalty.
- To send you occasional news, only if you ticked that box. Unsubscribe any time by replying “unsubscribe”.
Your story is shared with our writers and production team. When a story is produced, names and identifying details are changed. We never sell or rent your information.
Who else sees it
Our web host (currently HostGator) and our email provider store it on our behalf, and may do so outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
How long we keep it
Stories we use, and the record of your agreement, are kept for as long as the show and its episodes are distributed. Stories we don’t use are deleted within three years, or sooner if you ask.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw a story we haven’t yet put into production, by writing to [email protected]. Please include your reference number. We’ll respond within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is for adults. We don’t accept submissions from, or knowingly collect information about, anyone under 18.
